"What motivates you?"
I was surprised with my answer and how fast I was able to articulate it.
I thought about the why's of what I do.
Why do I teach?
Why to I travel?
Why do I dance and drum and sing?
Why do I prioritize spiritual and physical wellness and education over all others?
Where does that motivation come from? Why do I keep on keepin' on?
And what motivates me to continue on this sometimes difficult but extremely rewarding entrepreneurial path?
The answer, in essence, is FREEDOM & CONNECTION.
Joseph Campbell put it so beautifully:
“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.”
My motivation is directly related to the experience of feeling alive and connecting to my truth and my light.
This is freedom for me.
I create, teach, learn, live so that I may continue to let go of the lies and the untrue stories (unworthiness, not enough-ness, life-is-a-struggle, etc) and start living the truth.
Helping others connect to their truth helps me connect to mine.
What is the truth to me?
We are beings of love and light. We've come here to expand and transform and grow our souls. We've come to share our gifts and our truths so that we may be instruments of divine love and power.
We've come to live in these human bodies to move beyond little thinking, to rise above and create a beautiful life for all. A life of compassion, generosity, love, joy and celebration.
We've come to experience the highs and lows and to remember that we have a choice in how we want to live. We create our lives.
So...questions for you to ponder:
"What motivates you?"
"What gets you out of bed in the morning?"
"Why do you work/travel/play/create?"
"Why do you exist?"
When we answer these beautiful questions, we become clearer about our path and what we want to experience and create.
I feel rejuvenated and reconnected to my purpose thanks to that beautiful conversation with my man yesterday (I picked a good one)!
I feel motivated!
Asking important questions and getting clear about the answers will help us all move out of stuck and stagnant emotions.
